Shandong University of Science and Technology (SDUST), founded in 1951, offers multidisciplinary education in engineering, sciences, management, literature, law, economics, and education with unique engineering characteristics. It is a key construction university of Shandong Province for cultivating personnel with practical abilities and a high-level university.
Engineering, mathematics, chemistry, and materials science have entered the top 1% of ESI in the world. There’s also a state key lab base co-founded by Shandong Province and the Ministry of Education, 2 state-local joint engineering centers, 1 national engineering lab, and 92 ministerial/provincial Labs (base) and Engineering (Technology) Research Center.
In the past five years, SDUST has undertaken 424 national scientific research projects and 779 provincial and ministerial projects. It has won 233 scientific research awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, including 2 second prizes of national science and technology progress. 1800 national invention patents were authorized. Journal of Shandong University of Science and Technology (natural science edition) is a national core Chinese journal and a science and technology core journal. The Science and Technology Park of the university is jointly recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education as the "National University Science and Technology Park" and the "College Students' Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Practice Base". The university is recognized as one of the first batches of bases for the transformation and transfer of scientific and technological achievements in colleges and universities by the Ministry of education.
The University has established cooperative relationships with 120 universities and research institutes in 23 countries and regions, and the university was successfully selected in the "discipline innovation and talent introduction plan of universities". Nearly 100 foreign experts joined the university every year. 5 joint-education programs are approved by the Ministry of Education with over 2000 students enrolled. Over 500 international students from more than 70 countries come to SDUST for a degree or short-term studies.
