The Master’s in International Development (MID) degree program is designed to prepare students to become active global citizens and to enhance their understanding of China’s development experience. The MID is a full-time program of 18 months. There are two groups of courses in the program -- fundamentals of public policy and management, and global comparative perspectives with an emphasis on the Chinese development experience. All required courses must be completed within the first academic year. Field-study trips will be arranged for the students to visit international organizations, local and provincial government agencies in China. This aspect of the program will provide students with hands-on experience on ongoing international development projects in China. During the third semester, students are required to complete a thesis on an issue related to international development. The program consists of three semesters of full-time academic work, with a minimum course requirement of 36 credits to complete the degree.
