China Agricultural University (CAU) is one of the world’s best universities for agricultural sciences. The College of Humanities and Development studies at CAU is the institution that initiated development studies in China. The two-year master program in Rural Development and Management Studies will provide you with a rigorous and critical introduction to development. The course will introduce you to development studies as an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary subject. It covers the intellectual history of development, the paradigm shifts and internal conflicts within the discipline and the contemporary relevance of research to development policy and practice. Since 2008, the program has recruited 265 international students from 52 different countries. A total of 138 master students have graduated. Our students often choose careers in international organizations such as the United Nations, government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), universities, and research centers.
