Overview
The School of Mechatronic Engineering of China University of Mining and Technology is a strong faculty that cultivates undergraduates, master students and doctoral students. Mechanical Engineering is a national first-class doctor degree discipline, including four secondary doctoral disciplines—Mechanical Design and Theory, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Machinery Manufacturing and Automation and Vehicle Engineering. Mechanical Engineering was appraised as one of the key disciplines of Jiangsu Province and the innovation platform of “985 Project” of the Ministry of Education in 2008, was appraised as the first level discipline of Jiangsu Province and the National Key Discipline cultivation and Construction Point in 2009, and was named as a platform for the construction of the dominant subjects in Jiangsu Universities in 2011. It was rated as B+ in the national assessment and ranked 28th. The discipline of “Mechanical Design and Theory” was listed as the only national key discipline training spot for Mechanical Design and Theory in Jiangsu Province in 2005, and was appraised as the national key discipline in 2007. It has high prestige and important influence both in teaching and research fields. Since 2017, the School of Mechatronic Engineering opened the English study programs for master graduates majoring in Mechanical Design and Theory. All courses of the program are taught in English except the language courses, and the dissertation defense is also completed in English.
